A Grand Choir Event

Imagine a choir of epic proportions, bringing worlds together: the Scratch Concert.

‘Scratch’ concerts, immensely popular all around the globe, combine a love for making music with present-day pace of life: starting ‘from scratch’, a random group of music lovers rehearse and perform a music programme in the course of only one day or weekend. Choir members do not know each other beforehand, but rehearsals and the music itself bring them together in no time. As a preliminary, free downloads of music scores and voice files are available to all participants.

Spirited and encouraged by a Dutch Director who stands out with this formula, the choir members give a surprisingly high quality performance at the end of the day.
Dubai Opera House Scratch Concert will offer a unique opportunity for up to 800 men and women to take part in a Project Choir and perform in a very high quality concert at a grand venue.

The Project Choir base are a group of 16 professional choir singers and the Promenade Orchestra from The Netherlands, together with soloists (subject to repertoire of choice).

The Dutch Promenade Orchestra is a modern orchestra which has proved to be of outstanding quality, performing Arabic and Western classical music. Conductor and Events Manager Martin van der Brugge will make arrangements for the Dutch Promenade Orchestra to perform a wonderful choice of repertoire from classical composers, as well as highlights from Arabic songs and compositions.

Baidar Albasri, most appreciated for her unique  interpretation of Arabic sound and authentic  performance, will star in this heart-warming concert.

Opera & Ballet

Experience prime opera and ballet from East European Countries

International Music Productions has developed a unique program combining classical music and classical dance. Experience prime opera and ballet from East European Countries. In our portfolio you will find some of the greatest and best known opera works and ballet productions. By combining performances, the audience will enjoy three distinctive performances representative of the magnificent history of opera and ballet!

The program of three performances can be offered in three seperate concerts as well as in a series of consecutive concerts – in which case the concerts will take place within a weeks’ time, providing the audience the opportunity to attend a unique sequence of performing arts.

Performance 1:
An opera from the classical period, for example a Mozart opera, performed by a specialised orchestra and premier soloists.
Performance 2:
Secondly, the orchestra will perform an opera from the Romantic period, for example a Verdi opera.
Performance 3:
Finally, Dubai Opera House will welcome one of the great classical ballets, from Prokofiev to Tchaikovsky!

Educational Concerts

For more years, the Dutch Classical Orchestra (DCO) has presented an educational concert series, focused on the importance of music education in the community. We provide music as a core subject for all children, using music education as a catalyst to improve overall achievement, school motivation and self-confidence.

The DCO encourages children of all ages to be part of the learning experience by exposing them to great music in live performances. We offers various receptive school concerts in various theaters and concert halls. In advance, the school receives lessons from our musicians to prepare the concert visit in the classroom. These educational performances are designed to foster a love of music that will last a lifetime!

Resume Martin van der Brugge

Martin van der Brugge obtained his Master Orchestra Director’s diploma from the Rotterdam Conservatory and his Master Choir Director’s diploma from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague in 1994.
Martin successfully organised the first master class for directors in Bulgaria. In 1996 he gave concerts with the Vidin Philharmonic Orchestra as guest director. Martin was appointed regular guest director of the Mersin State Opera and Ballet of Turkey, with various productions including Verdi’s Rigoletto performed under his direction. He also performed as guest director of the the Paliashvili Symphony Orchestra and Choir in Tbilisi (Georgia). Martin has held his baton performing in numerous countries, among which the Czech Republic, Poland, Austria, Germany, Spain, Slovenia and Russia. He has been longterm director of several oratorium choirs and orchestras in the Netherlands.
In addition to his work as orchesta- and choir conductor, he is owner of the soloist management agency Boek Solisten Nu, the career board and consulting agency Dirigenten Belangen and the events management agencies Sing Along Events and Classical Music Productions.

Jorieke Akkerman

Jorieke Akkerman started working as an Event Manager at our Dutch company Sing Along Events in 2009.
As a (musical) singer, she started playing professional musical productions at the young age of 6. After finishing High School, she studied Musical Performance at the Music Academy (Haarlem). During that time, she developed as a performer as well as in business and expanded her Event Management skills at Sing Along Events and International Music Management. In 2019 she got her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Science. This Bachelor focuses on the role of communication and media in society.

Yvonne Senden

Yvonne Senden has over 10 years of experience in the events & entertainment industry. She started her career as a performer in The Netherlands where she participated in many shows and was also one of the main artists at Toussaint Dinnershows for 4 years.
Five years ago she decided to move to Dubai where she did the start-up for an interactive black box theater for children in Abu Dhabi. After that she started working as an artistic coordinator for Emaar Entertainment where she managed the shows and performances alongside other special events. Currently she’s working as an events manager.
Apart from her job she’s also one of the soprano’s of The Dubai Opera Singers and has performed at the BBC Proms, Gladiator in Concert, Harry Potter in Concert and Handel’s Messiah concert. She also sang the United Arab Emirates National Anthem at the World Urban Forum by the UN in 2020 in Abu Dhabi.
Working with International Music Management is a big and fun adventure that gives me the opportunity to be more involved in the one thing where my passion lies; music.

Tonnie Jonk

In June 2017 Tonnie Jonk joined the Sing Along Team to manage back-office activities, to fulfill obligations regarding Finance & VAT, to apply for subsidies (fundraiser) and to host events. She provides Sing Along Events with her knowledge and expertise which she gained during her long career at ING (including two short term assignments in Poland and Belgium). In 2017 she started her own company.
Specifically her skills in process improvements, cost reductions and improving customer satisfaction contribute to Sing Along Events in being a highly professional organisation and well appreciated by the (classical) singers.
